My guarantee

It’s crazy that I get to write something like this and actually mean it, but here we are!

The guarantee

Why I’m doing this

As AI use becomes ubiquitous, the amount of text and multimedia will increasingly involve fewer humans in its creation. I don’t place a value judgement based on this fact alone, but this does mean that what’s authentic will become much more valuable. And this is something I personally value. I’m betting on the fact that others value it too!

And that’s pretty much it. This post is about setting the record straight.

Soap box

People tend to wax poetic about humans being in the loop, but let’s not kid ourselves. Human nature being what it is, it’s quite attractive (at first glance) to get most of the results with as little effort as possible. The results don’t even have to hit the mark, they can be asymptotically close enough. You can already see this with AI-generated subtitles for videos, vibe-coded spaghetti, and research papers. In lieu of a standard Hello World post, I’ve decided to write this instead. It’s my declaration of war against a worrying trend where it feels like we’re losing our humanity. It’s my sincerest hope that this is just yet another new tool that we haven’t learned to work with properly yet.

I’m not a luddite, though, and despite everything I’ve written, I’m actually a heavy user of AI tools. I hope to write more about how exactly I use them in the future. What I don’t do with AI, though, is delegate my thinking. To write is to think, and I’d like to continue being human, thanks.
